Cornerstones in Print Design Annual
Thursday July 2nd 2009

Print Magazine, one of the industry's premier publications, has selected "Cornerstones Identity" for their 2009 Regional Design Annual. This is an honor when you consider the judges had to review more than 5,000 entries from California to New York and every state in between.
The "Cornerstones Identity" was selected for its use of vibrant colors and unusual logo design and tag line. Cornerstones is the historic preservation group that protects and restores Chattanooga's historic buildings. The purpose of the change was to broaden the appeal of the organization to a much younger audience. The biggest question we had to answer was how did something historic fit into this audience's 21st century living and lifestyles? We had to make it hip, fashionable and relevant, hence our current tag line, "Historic Preservation Is Present Tense."
Print's Regional Design Annual is the first and only comprehensive representation of graphic design organized by geography. When the Annual was first launched in 1981 to address the decentralizing of the advertising and design markets to other areas of the country, the editors deliberately omitted New York City. They wanted to make sure Manhattan didn't overshadow and squeeze out those newer, smaller markets. It didn't take long for Print and the entire industry to realize New York had plenty of competition.
