The New Year Begins with Two New Clients

There’s no better way to begin the New Year than new business. Thanks to the efforts of Brian May, president and creative director, and John Wagoner, Maycreate’s new account supervisor, the agency just landed Black Creek, a 3,000-acre, master planned community and Armor Shields, for those who have a passion for grilling on the Big Green Egg.

“We couldn’t ask for a better fit,” said Brian. “Both clients are visionaries and share our entrepreneurial spirit.” John agreed and went on to say that chemistry played a big role in both wins.

Black Creek lies on the western edge of Raccoon Mountain, better known as Mount Aetna. It is also home to a Brian Silva-designed golf course that has been voted one of the United States top 100 Residential Golf Courses by Golf Week magazine. In addition to the Black Creek Club, the 13-Phase Plan will include Town and Community centers, a market, a hotel and lodge, as well as 760 homes, from estates to townhomes.

Black Creek is also designed to be a natural part of the stunning typography. That includes six breathtaking miles of a hillside panorama that overlooks downtown Chattanooga and the lush valley west of Lookout Mountain. The streets and neighborhoods contain no dead-ends. Sidewalks and footpaths connect homes and neighborhoods, so neighbors become friends and friends become community.

Why did Black Creek select Maycreate as their lead agency? Doug Stein, Black Creek’s president, said, “Maycreate’s response to our RFP was complete and very thorough. It was clear they could do this. Add the presence of Maycreate’s wisdom and experience and the fact they embraced our vision, and the choice was obvious.”

Armor Shields, on the other hand, has definitely raised the bar when it comes to grilling. Now the creative chef can step up his or her game with a unique, customized grill that stands apart, when it comes to Big Green Egg accessories. This is the opportunity for any chef who’s a grilling enthusiast to express that enthusiasm and passion with an exclusive patent-pending design that is handcrafted in the U.S. and sized to match the geometry of your Kamado style grill.

The story behind Armor Shields? One fall weekend, while attending a college tailgate party, Armor Shields founder noticed lots of sports logos and corporate brands were on everything except the grills people gathered around. Many challenges and several prototypes followed. Despite those facts, the design process was fun. Utility and design patents were filed. And the exact geometry of the grills was captured so the Shields became a smart and elegant accessory.

Maycreate has partnered with Armor Shields and will be working with Larry Bradford, president and founder of the company. The agency will be fine-tuning the brand and launching an effort to optimize their growing digital footprint. The result will be a very measurable, revenue-generating digital marketing campaign that will be introduced in the first quarter of 2019.

So 2019 is off to a great start. We welcome our new clients and look forward to helping each of them launch and build successful, well-recognized brands.
