Just Be Human...

 Monty Wyne

“When communities thrive, businesses thrive.” A statement made by Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase at the recent World Economic Forum. A few short months later, the entire world was engulfed in a pandemic.

Today, business is anything but normal. The question becomes how can business successfully market in what’s fast becoming the new normal? Here’s an insight. While many of us have retreated to the safety of our homes, avoiding social contact, we still haven’t lost that intrinsic need for human connection. It’s an integral part of our DNA.

So how can you, as a brand or a business, make that connection?

Empathize

Empathy, or the ability and willingness to understand and share the feelings of another, should be in abundant supply. Maya Angelou once said, “People will never forget how you made them feel.” Keep that in mind as each of us takes our individual journeys with COVID-19.

Reimagine

Every day, every week, we’re all wondering, reimagining how we’re going to do our work, serve our customers in this virtual world we all inhabit. Old ideas and tried and true marketing tactics have become obsolete. Your customers want to see the value of your products or services reflect those of their current reality.

Innovate

As you and your customers contend with this new reality, being unmistakably relevant is a must. How can your product or service help them, reassure them in this uncertain

time? The pandemic has pushed companies, businesses and brands out of their comfort zones. Times like this call for innovation.

Be Human

If ever there was a time to elevate the human experience, it’s now. Connect or relate on a human level with the one thing we all share—emotions. They’re the basis for 80 percent of an individual’s daily decisions. If you want to continue to connect, also demonstrate greater authenticity. Those that do lead with values and purpose.

These are challenging times, but nothing is insurmountable. If you’d like to continue the conversation, give Brian May, President & Executive Creative Director or John Wagoner, Brand Strategist & Account Supervisor a call or shoot them an email. Their contact information is below.
