Say Hello to Beau

 Monty Wyne

He grew up on Lookout Mountain. Enjoyed exploring the woods, hangin’ out, and playing sports with his friends. The normal kid stuff, he says. Beau attended McCallie, a college-preparatory school, where he made a close group of lifelong friends. He also ran track. His favorite event was the 4x100 meter relay. His junior and senior years he bowled, and the team won state.

After graduating from McCallie, Beau headed for High Point, North Carolina to attend High Point University. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, but time was running out. He needed to declare a major. That’s when he discovered graphic design. He’ll never forget his first class. His professor asked the students to look outside, look all around them. “Everything is graphic design, even the stop sign down the street,” he said. That was when Beau began looking at things differently.

After graduating with his B.A. in Graphic Design and Digital Imaging, he began looking for his first job, and landed a 6-month internship with Craftworks as a graphic designer. From there, it was on to Fast Signs where he juggled project management, design, and machine operation. Beau has a passion for learning, and eventually the time came for a new challenge. That’s when he was introduced to AutoCAD, software used to create 2 and 3D drawings for design and construction.

Surprisingly, all this and his project management experience led him to a job opening at Maycreate. “It was the perfect fit for what I was looking to do,” said Beau. “And better yet, it was in the creative space.” Maycreate also gave him the opportunity to collaborate with a team, sharing ideas and solving problems– an environment in which Beau thrives.

Ingenuity is his strong suit. Beau’s always looking for a better, more efficient way to do things. He’ll question a process or an operation. Ask himself, what if we did it this way? Would it be more efficient? Save our clients money? In the world of advertising, marketing, and constant deadlines, that’s a valuable trait to have.

He’s also intrigued with branding. The psychology behind what draws a customer to one product over another. “How are you going to make that brand stand out in a very competitive marketplace?” he asks. Well, he’s sure of one thing. Doesn’t matter how good your product is, if it doesn’t have a personality and a purpose....you don’t have a brand. Say hello to Beau, and get to know the rest of the Maycreators too!
