Time Flies When You Fly With Us

Air Travel Is Growing

The forecasts for air passenger demand are in for 2023. The predictions are that air travel will grow this year, recovering to the pre-pandemic levels established in 2019. As a matter of fact, with airline masking mandates and other Covid restrictions behind us, 2023 will be the first full year of what’s considered normal air travel.

Following a substantial increase in passenger boardings in 2022, Terry Hart, Chattanooga Airport’s (CHA) chief executive, is confident that the airport will reach 2019 levels as the airlines increase their seating capacities. In light of this fact, the airport has already begun to respond to this growth.

CHA Adds More Non-Stops

They have recently added more non-stop flights to Chicago and Miami. Now there are three daily non-stops leaving the airport for O’Hare International Airport at 8:00 am, 10:55 am and Sunday through Friday at 5:28 pm. As far as Miami is concerned, American Airlines has a non-stop departing at 7:00 am on Saturday and arriving at 9:00 am that morning at Miami International Airport. This summer, CHA will be adding an additional non-stop to this location.

Passenger Terminal Expands

Besides increasing the number of non-stop flights, CHA’s new passenger terminal expansion will bring 26,000 square feet, as well as a renovated 36,000 square feet of space to the airport when the work is completed in 2024. This addition will not only expand the checkpoint area, but also increase amenities for passengers, and add new gates so they can board additional planes.

Our Covered Parking Garage

Almost two years ago, the airport opened its new $25 million dollar, four-level covered parking garage. This expansion provided another 1,300 parking spaces for travelers, and is only steps away from check-in, a real time saver when passengers are catching a flight.

All in all, Chattanooga Airport looks forward to continued growth and service for all of their passengers who rely on them to get them to their travel destinations on time and with service that’s above and beyond the call.

A Valued Partnership

Maycreate and the Chattanooga Airport have worked together since 2016. When the agency won the business, Brian May, president and executive creative director said, “This is not only an account we wanted to win, but a brand we can positively impact by raising the awareness and visibility for an asset that will play a significant role in our city’s economic development.”

I (HEART) NON-STOP

From day one, Maycreate hit the ground running. Our first big campaign was I (HEART) NON-STOP, which launched the new non-stop flights to New York City and Chicago. From outdoor to print, social and digital media, to radio, and “What’s the shortest distance from Chattanooga to NYC? Ask the Girls,” a fun and convincing video that followed two of our staff for a weekend adventure capturing the convenience and magic of the “city that never sleeps.”

“Time Flies When You Fly With Us”

Following this, Chattanooga Airport added more non-stops to big cities. Passenger traffic continued to increase. And our message to travelers was all about speed and convenience. From the time they arrived at the airport to the time they arrived at their final destination, the clock was ticking. With this new growth came the need for a new website. It was time to streamline the interface, restructure the site’s navigation, and ensure it was mobile friendly as site traffic continued to increase. We also introduced a new tagline: “Time Flies When You Fly with Us.”

The Airport Expands

Then the pandemic hit, and revenue and enplanements dropped. Despite the setback, Maycreate and the airport took an optimistic view and moved forward. The airport was about to complete their new 4-level, covered parking garage with 1,300 additional parking spaces. And plans had been drawn up for a new terminal expansion, adding 26,000 sq. ft. of space with additional gates, a sit-down restaurant, and much more. Maycreate began creative exploration on wall graphs, banners, and easel boards to announce the new expansion.

“Depart And Arrive”

Early May in 2022, the airport came to us about conducting a creative exploration. They were looking for a campaign that spoke to their point of difference in a way that emphasized the convenience and speed passengers would experience when they booked a flight with CHA. From the moment they headed for the airport to the point at which they landed at their destination, the two most important words to passengers were, Depart and Arrive.
